This 1-step metal surface preparation and pre-treatment product is a non-hazardous, environmentally friendly, water based, water-soluble and Ready to Use product. It cleans the surface by removing light mill oil, dust and light surface rust/flash rust and at the same time provides a protective coating (conversion coating) for a very long-term indoor rust prevention (in terms of several years depending on the location). It can be used on any metal, ferrous and non-ferrous (such as carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, galvanized steel etc.), as a surface preparation/pre-treatment chemical before welding, priming, painting, powder coating etc. and also to protect the surface from rusting for a very long period of time (in terms of several years) during storage before finishing. Provides an excellent bonding and corrosion resistance. For welding, painting and powder coating, Picklex®20 provides a combination of a surface cleaner, rust remover, 100% rust converter, rust inhibitor, anti-spatter, primer, a protective coating and a metal surface conditioner, all in one step. It improves weld strength considerably with no weld spatter.
NOTE: Picklex®20 was shown and used on the TV show called “Trucks” on Spike TV channel hosted by Kevin Tetz (episode - One-half a C-10) during restoration of a truck to prevent rusting for a long period of time before they are ready to prime and paint.
